Bars Wants to Talk About Sex Until it Stops Being a Big Deal.

Independent singer-songwriter and performance artist Bars will release “Sexting,” the second single from his sophomore album Dirty Troll, on Nov. 6. The album takes on what most people rarely talk about: sexual fantasy.

Bars is a Los Angeles-based independent singer-songwriter and performance artist redefining how audiences experience sound. With a background in musical theater, Bars, previously known as Bar Bionic, combines pop music, dance, wearable technology and theatrical performance to create an immersive visual world. His signature “cyber wig” is made of hundreds of headphones and changes style from project to project.

“Everybody has desires. Everybody has temptations,” Bars says. “Everyone’s thinking about it, but nobody talks about it.”

Bars calls “Sexting” an updated take on “Why Don’t You Do Right?” — the 1936 song famously performed by Jessica Rabbit in Who Framed Roger Rabbit. The jazz-inspired track takes a comedic approach to a touchy subject, playing with the idea that foreplay can be more satisfactory than what comes next.

On Dirty Troll, Bars draws inspiration from the irreverence of Andy Warhol and Pop Art, and finds himself at his most sincere and his most sarcastic. With tongue-in-cheek song titles like “Hot Dawgs,” “Hoe in WeHo” and lead single “Drop a Pin,” Bars uses wordplay to talk about the taboo.

“People today look at sex as offensive, or something that we shouldn’t talk about. But once you put it out there and talk about it, you see it’s not that bad,” Bars says.

The album’s title also explains its sound. Across 11 tracks co-produced by Varo (Pitbull, Lasso) and Daniel Jakubovic, Dirty Troll moves from metal to disco to ballads. The unexpected genre shifts are how Bars “trolls” his audience and removes all expectations from one song to the next. With a background in musical theater, Bars is as comfortable moving from sound to sound as he is character to character.

“Sexting” will be available to stream on Nov. 6, and Dirty Troll will be released in early 2027.
